Jasper Duck Cardigan - Derby Grey

A boxy five-button cardigan in superfine lambswool, spun in Scotland and made in Portugal. Intarsia mallards across the front, chevron intarsia down each sleeve.

All Souls College, Oxford was founded in 1437, and a mallard is said to have flown out of the foundations as they were dug. The Mallard Song has been sung there ever since, at the Bursar's Dinner in March and the Gaudy in November. Once a century the fellows hunt the mallard by torchlight, behind a Lord Mallard carried in a chair and a wooden duck raised on a pole. It was last done in 2001. The next is due in 2101.
