The craftsmanship of the embroidery that adorns the shirt can be seen in the intricately detailed motifs featuring peacocks, swallows, florals and sprigs - inspired by an 18th century fire screen owned by the Sitwell family - and the crocheted trims that form the horizontal panels on the shirt.
